With its mahogany panelling and green leather banquettes Green's of Duke Street in St. James has the feel of a gentlemen's club. It's owners also read like a very posh members only club - Simon Parker Bowles, brother to Camilla's ex husband, has the backing of Lord Daresbury (formerly of the De Vere hotels group) and beef baron Lord Vestey. The menu draws on Parker Bowles's tastes with Haddock Parker Bowles, their signature dish, a nostalgic nod to a childhood favourite. Fish features prominently and you can sit up at the marble-topped Oyster Bar. When in season game is also served up - one suspects the typical Green's customer is partial to a weekend spent grouse shooting on the moors. Eton mess is, naturally, for pud. Posh dining for posh people.
