North London Kosher favourite Harry Morgan's have expanded into this caf? on Market Place in Soho, offering a similar deli menu and their famous sandwich selection. The place is sure to become a firm favourite with the Soho lunch crowd - Harry M's isn't as big as the original and will do a lot more takeaway trade, but the trademark low prices and delicious food are in place.
We elected to sit outside even though it was a crisp October day - the smiling staff clearly thought we were mad but helpfully steered us in the direction of warming menu items. Classic Borscht and fried Gefilte Fish Balls made an excellent start to the meal, a salt beef sandwich was as tasty and balanced as it would be in St John's Wood and a mezze platter left us feeling stuffed and happy.
Harry M's is great value for a lunchtime blow-out, but is also sure to do a roaring trade in take-away sandwiches and salads. It made us nostalgic for the original Harry Morgan's, but in a good way.
Highly recommended.
