Chiswick felt like it had truly arrived when Soho House owner Nick Jones decided 2006 was a good time to open up here - 'first Soho, then LA, New York, now Chiswick, finally, we're on the map', they thought. And High Road Brasserie is certainly a much-needed designer bar and brunch hang out for the time-poor, cash-rich twenty to thirty-year-olds of west London. For the really flash there's a five-storey private members club (as with all Soho House outlets) next door at High Road House which also has hotel rooms. Jones has cleverly tailored each of his establishments to suit the clientele of the neighbourhood and this branch includes a kid-friendly menu. For adults there's a reliable choice of dishes like sea bass and steak tartare with a French bias but there are also smaller light bite plates of scampi and hummus at a very reasonable average price of £5 to £9.
