Originally the home of the Curry Club set up in 1962, the India Club feels like it hasn't changed since Asian food introduced to this country half a century ago. Hidden up two flights of stairs and house within the budget Strand Continental Hotel, the shabby decor, rickety tables, typed menus and scent of stale oil disguise some excellent food and extraordinary value.
