Authentic Japanese food prepared to order in a bright, breezy environment.
The key to great Japanese food is fresh ingredients and you won’t get much fresher than this. Positioned above the Japan Centre’s popular supermarket, Toku offers lovers of Japanese food reasonably priced, traditional cuisine prepared and cooked on the spot. The menu is extensive and provides something for every palate – including the heavily Westernised variety. Bright and breezy with red walls and a plethora of tables this bustling, dynamic environment adds credibility and authenticity to the whole Japanese eating experience. This friendly, relaxed space is great for those who really like their Japanese food and don’t want to stand on ceremony but rather dive right in (service can be spectacularly speedy here). Sitting and eating at the bar has two advantages; firstly you get to see the chef prepare you food directly in front of you and secondly you don’t have to pay service charge. Add to this exquisite presentation and a supermarket downstairs where you can pick up ingredients to take home and you’ve got yourself a great, healthy eating option.
Best for:
Sushi and stir fries, speedy service, fresh preparation and bright red walls.
