This is one of the loveliest spots in West London, perfect for an intimate celebration at any time of the day. The place is run by a selection of delightfully relaxed and friendly youngsters and the proprietress, a wonderful lady. Set over two split-level floors, the decor is made up from an odd collection of largely Ottoman artifacts clearly collected on family travels, and you're as likely to eat off a burnished treasure chest as a conventional table.
The menu is equally eclectic but covers most people's favourite finger foods, and there's a small but enticing list of hearty main courses. Service is prompt, background music discreet but impeccably trendy, and the extensive wine list (there is a small bar on the ground floor) is both excellent and reasonably priced.
This is not only one of the best small brasseries in town, but also a wonderfully romantic place, and only a short walk from Holland Park.
If you ever have occasion to open a bottle of champagne at lunchtime, this is the place to go. Blissful.
