The Kew Grill is one of two restaurants that TV chef Anthony Worrall Thompson managed to save from the administrators at the begninning of 2009. Along with the Kew Grill, the Windsor Grill and his shop, the Windsor Larder, are still going. The AWT Restaurants Ltd group is no longer and with it places like the Notting Grill and The Lamb Inn, in Henley, have closed down after ten years of trading. Fortunately for the people of Richmond, they can still Worrall Thompson's classic British dishes, from the crisp spiced soft shell crab to the grilled steak specialities. The steaks and poultry from the grill are, obviously, where the excel, but everything else is done with real flair as well, and the place has a friendly, enjoyable atmosphere. This is simple but excellent food.
