Francesco Mazzei's beautifully designed restaurant 'L'Anima', literally translated from the Italian means 'soul'. The French limestone walls, green-toned marble and white leather seating, put together by Armani shop designer Claudio Silvestrin, certainly create a good-for-the-soul, calming experience. Mazzei has previously worked with Alan Yau, consulting on the Michelin-starred menu at Hakkasan, at Franco's on Jermyn Street and most recently at St Alban which is where his head chef Luca Terraneo and restaurant manager Patrick Oberto originate from. Italian flavoured dishes vary from wood oven baked turbot to Sicilian rabbit. If you prefer a less formal approach, sit up at the elegantly lit bar with a bellini and sample the antipasti dishes of wood oven pizza, tomato and mozzarella and crispy deep fried calamari.
