This legendary Walthamstow pie and mash shop, set up in 1929 by an Italian immigrant, Luigi Manzo, is protected by its Grade II listing for its "exceptionally complete interior". L Manze eel, pie and mash shop on Walthamstow high street still centres around those three key dishes - which together make up one of London's oldest fast food traditions. While Michaele Manze was the mastermind behind the chain, setting up the first Manze shop on Tower Bridge Road, it was his brother, Luigi, who established this Walthamstow branch, using the architect Herbert Wright to create the beautiful building that still exists today.
