For shoppers who've tired of justling with the crowds on Oxford Street the network of pretty pedestrianised streets leading from Carnaby Street are certainly worth a visit. And this authentic French restaurant on Newburgh Street is among the best dining options in the area. Wonderfully romantic, the restaurant upstairs is small, light, pale - and if French is the language of love then the waiters chatting away in their native tongue only adds to the 'romantique' ambiance. Owners Thierry Bouteloup and Guillaume Siard offer the traditional French dishes - frog legs and mussels - and have put together a 100-bin wine list, 85 of which are biodynamic. Sample the grapes upstairs over entrecote de boeuf or downstairs with a croque monsieur.
