It's a hard life at the Londontown towers. We throw our all into finding our readers the finest - nay, the best, that London has to offer, and...well, we get hungry. The trouble is we find it hard to cram in a healthy, tasty lunch. We're swamped in McDonald's and Pret a Manger, but we want something different...something good. It seems like our prayers have been answered by the little god-of-London-lunches by the excellent Leon restaurant situated at the far end of Carnaby street.
Inside it looks a little like a fast food joint and it is. The food is served in shoots, like McDonald's, so there's hardly any waiting, and it's neatly wrapped for consumption on the move. The difference comes when you open the box, rather than greasy burgers you get grilled chicken wraps, slathered in aioli; spicey, succulent kebabs spiked with chilli; Moroccan meatballs, scented faintly with cumin and served in a thick tomato ragu. Believe me readers, it tastes good. Of course, there's so much more than meat, including plenty of veggie options too, like the extra-healthy (and rather tasty) salads made with Super Foods (broccoli, rocket, sprouts etc). All the food at Leon's is seasonal, well-sourced and, where possible, local. It's not totally organic, but it's all free-range, which means you get well-flavoured food that tastes like it should.
This is the kind of restaurant that London needs. Healthy, tasty food served quickly. Whether its a full meal you're after, or just a juice (ginger and carrot comes highly recommended) this place will put a smile on your face. And don't forget, it's open in the evening too with an excellent selection of wine. Enjoy this place Londoners, it's going to be huge. Very highly recommended.
