This is one of those rare things - a very authentic French patisserie - and quite a find in the middle of Clapham Old Town. The French owners, Monsieur Lenet and Monsieur Roland - also responsible for Gastro - employ a (mainly) French staff who create the magical cakes and sweet pastries on the premises - only the bread is bought in. You can even look into the kitchen while debating which macaroons you're going to scoff and see them being made. It's not just about the home made baked goods though, come here for the ambiance and the feeling that you've been transported to the Rue de Rivoli for afternoon tea. Tea is served in delicate china cups and matching saucers, giving the occasion a sense of sophistication that it deserves. Sit at the communal table and get to know your fellow diners or, if it's a fine day, sit outside at one of four pavement-side tables and watch the world go by.
