This three-floor Italian cafe-bar and restaurant occupies a wonderful glass fronted Norman Foster designed building in the City. On the top floor, the Roundhouse room is named after an early settlement on this site. When Norman Foster's team started work in 1996 they found the foundation of a roundhouse within a village settlement which dates back to Roman times, around 50 to 60 AD. This top floor space is great for an after-dinner cocktail and is also available for private dinning. A sister restaurant to Manicomio in Duke of York Square, Italian ingredients are a speciality so you can be sure your buffalo mozzarella is the real deal. Ingredients like rare breed Suffolk lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork are largely based on the slow food principle, so things like food miles and the environment are taken into consideration. The ground floor cafe-bar has a terrace for al fresco drinking whether you want a coffee to kick start the day or a cocktail to wind down at the end of it.Manicomio images
