Maroush has been open for years and has consistently maintained high standards in the kitchen. They’ve also always had belly dancers and music as the evening wears on, and despite the occasional refit the décor looks unchanged. The formula is a winning one and Maroush is considered an essential stop by many Middle Eastern visitors. There’s a cover charge and the drinks are expensive, but the food is great value, with huge main courses that could easily feed two and a variety of over 50 mezze starters that are both tasty and substantial. This place can feel a bit tacky when you first enter, but you’ll be charmed by the staff and amazed by the food. Maroush deserves its place in legend.
