The menu at this Chocolate Factory has no golden eggs or endlessly chewable bubble gum on it and, on the night we went anyway, there were no little orange men or rivers of chocolate. The name refers to the building's former incarnation and although some of the industrial ambiance has been retained - with exposed brick, iron columns and rough wooden beams - these days you're more likely to catch a play, an exhibition and a good meal here. The food is of the reliable modern British type - braised lamb biryani, free range pork sausages or a good old fashioned burger and chips plus some sociable sharing platters. Part of the fun is trying to spot cast members from the play you've just seen tucking into Ribeye steak. Pudding includes sweet things like peach and mascarpone tart with ginger crumb and, of course, they couldn't get away without offering a chocolate treat - if only to keep the Oompa Loompas happy. Excellent chocolate brownie is served with chocolate sauce; Willy Wonka would most certainly approve.
