There aren't many genuine Mexican restaurants in London, but Mestizo is a Mexican run by real authentic Mexicans. A group bound by their passion for bringing the bold flavours of their homeland to London. The Mestizo decor is far slicker than the average Tex Mex joint and the food is in another league. They don't rely on sombreros and cheap tequila to pull in the punters here, rich red walls and warm gold lighting compliment the authentic and innovative menu. Even Mexican Londoners give the fusion style food rave reviews.There is a nice attention to detail and the waiters are usually happy to help, they even bring complimentary hibiscus flavoured water to your table. The menu has lots of grazing dishes and a very thorough burrito selection. Sundays are popular, the brunch menu tempts with dishes such as the Huevos a la Mexicana, scrambled eggs with tomato, onion, coriander, chilli, rice and beans. And the daring all-you-can-eat buffet is open between noon and 4pm. Downstairs is Mestizo's private dining area which is a great place to host a party, sultry lighting, a taco stand and a well stocked bar are a recipe for a good night. Just prepare yourself for high prices to match the high standards.
