Lancashire Court is a find for rich tourists after they've tired of splashing the cash at Aspreys on neighbouring New Bond Street. Tucked away - so you have the pleasure of feeling that you've discovered it - this pretty pedestrian mews is home to the delicious Elemis Day Spa, to Hush and to this little gem. Taking up four floors of two converted Mews houses, the place includes a basement lounge, ground floor bar, restaurant above and, at the top, a vaulted private dining room, covered in antique maps of colonial England. It has the feel of an exclusive club but the good news is you don't have to cough up an annual fee to eat here. Specials are salt cod brandade with grebiche sauce and braised beef ribs while mains include modern British fare like suckling pig served with smoked garlic mash. Cod is spruced up with braised lettuce and shrimp gnocchi while your john dory is made all the more fancy with a side of calamari and parsnip tart. A secret, stylish setting for a special night out.
