Michael Moore has built a formidable word-of-mouth reputation, and on our visit it was obvious that some diners were devoted regulars… and it’s easy to see why. This cosy restaurant, with subtle lighting and impressive, serene décor, is a great find. There’s also a very personal touch, with Moore doing the rounds after dinner to mingle with his evidently delighted customers. He has a down-to-earth manner and seems as popular as the food, which was first rate. Despite a relaxed atmosphere, the presentation of the food was immaculate and the waiters combined a friendly manner with discreet and attentive service.
Modern European fusion cooking seems to be the style of the day, but the menu here manages a few original twists and is well matched by an impressive wine list. Particular highlights from our meal were a Mozarella en croute with ratatouille pesto and oyster sauce to start, a wonderful Beef Fillet in Madeira, some velvety smooth potato puree and a superbly executed Classic French Crème Brulee, the best I've ever tasted! All in all this was a superb meal and it nice to be able to put a face to the food at the end of a truly pleasing evening. Michael Moore is an excellent host and his restaurant looks likely to become a favourite with Central London diners.
