There's something unashamedly earthy about Morgan M. The cautionary note on the menu advising diners to watch out for “lead shot” while munching on tender morsels of game, combined with the strong, seasonally-focused menu illustrates the restaurant’s knack for bringing the outside in - rough edges and all. The result is evocative, exceptionally well-presented food, celebrating carefully sourced, seasonal produce. The décor tells a slightly different story. With its sleek cream walls, frosted glass windows and bright lighting the dining room provides a calm, intimate, but fittingly blank canvas from which to attend to the menu. And the menu really deserves the attention. The 6-course tasting menu is incredibly good value – with no sacrifice made for quality. Highlights included the exquisite pot roasted fillet of Iken Valley venison with hare ravioli and an indulgently rich dark chocolate moelleux with milk sorbet and accompanying Armagnac drink. Almost uniquely for a French restaurant, vegetarians are catered for with their own carefully crafted menu.
