Nahm is one of the finest restaurants in the world, located in the elegant Halkin Hotel and run by Australian chef and foodie David Thompson. His brand of Thai-fusion is not authentic at all but it produces extraordinary results - an astonishing array of delicate or fiery tastes. This is the only Thai restaurant in the world to hold a Michelin star. The service is attentive, discreet and knowledgeable (one slightly irritating feature is the exhaustive descriptions the waiters deliver with your food) and the setting is the height of refinement. However, the kitchen is what makes a meal at Nahm unforgettable. The menu, like the wine list, is extensive and possibly a little confusing, but everything is both exotic, original and extraordinarily good, from starters to desserts, and including the complimentary amuse bouche that appear unbidden throughout a meal. The set menu is a good introduction, and although everything is expensive it is not overpriced - this is some of the best cooking you will experience in any restaurant. Sublime.
