Anthony Worrall Thompson’s open-plan grill restaurant is dedicated to the English tradition of meat eating. There are a few menu choices for fish eaters and some salads, but the emphasis is definitely on delicious meat, all carefully sourced and raised to produce the best cuts. The celebrity head chef, unusual open-plan layout with chefs and diners in one room, and trendy location, have led many to dismiss Notting Grill as a gimmick but the food is really very good. The steaks and poultry from the grill are naturally delicious, but everything else is done with real flair as well, and the place has a friendly, enjoyable atmosphere. This is simple but excellent food and you’ll see happy faces at every table.
