The brothel-styled decor at this Primrose Hill staple - all marble pillars, leafy wallpaper and yellow curtains - makes it a real love-it-or-hate it destination (though one that's definitely popular with the Hill's celebrity contingent). The food is less controversial: TV chef Bryn Williams takes his cues from all over Europe, but this is mostly modern British, made with confidence and flair. Pig's heads, fig relish, scallops, oxtail and lots of fresh fish and game (in season) provide a gutsy - though somewhat overpriced - menu. In spite of the preponderance of poseurs amongst the diners, the mixture of unobtrusive service, rich food and lunatic design create a thoroughly pleasant mood.
