The landmark Millbank Tower in London is known for its cutting edge social venues, including the P.O.M Restaurant and Bar at the foot of its 118 foot of sparkling glass. Operated by Altitude London, the company behind Altitude 360 at the top of the tower, P.O.M Restaurant and Bar promises international dining in colourful modern surroundings. The name of the restaurant might be inspired by the prison which once stood in this spot (the title of Prisoner of Millbank informing the Australian term for us Brits), but P.O.M could not be less punishing, the sumptuous, bold, statement interior looking out on to the Thames while the exterior terraced area provides a much sought after answer to the question of city-based al fresco dinner and drinks. P.O.M's menu takes in traditional British dishes such as pies and fish and chips, made using seasonal ingredients, as well as a number of sharing boards featuring international flavours from the likes of Greece, Africa and the Middle East.
