This fast food restaurant is so wonderfully Italian even the flour used to bake the special Piade bread in the basement is flown in from Italy. The place gets its name from the flatbread that's a staple in the Emilia-Romagna region. It's a specialist bread made with 100% extra virgin olive oil - as you would expect from its Italian origins. The resulting husk is a light, crispy, warm bread in which to envelope your lunchtime sandwich. Fresh ingredients include Buffalo mozzarella, air-cured bresaola (beef), salame and speck (dried cured ham - another Italian staple). It's so easy to get this kind of healthy snack right it makes you wander how so many get it oh so terribly wrong. The tiled floor and framed photographs create a slick and sophisticated appearance - the kind of thing that design consultants who typically work nearby will appreciate when they join the growing queue come lunchtime.Piada images
