Amore Mio is a superb family-run café serving delicious pasta and Italian staples in a friendly, boisterous setting. There's a TV in one corner and you sit at long tables with other customers once you've selected your meal - this is a cheap and cheerful place, one of the best lunch spots in the area. The food choices generally include risotto, stuffed pasta and a daily meat dish. Amore Mio is also a very good bet for vegetarians.
The food is excellent. At these prices you expect basic fare and these are certainly classic, simple dishes - but prepared with real love and attention. Robust but enjoyable house wines are available, the coffee is good and strong, and a real highlight of this place is the home-made ice cream. The whole operation is overseen by a very friendly lady who gets special pleasure from serving her ice cream to children.
This is one of the finest cheap eats in London, a great place to pick up a delicious meal for very little in a friendly spot where both staff and customers seem very happy. Highly recommended.
