This addition to Terence Conran's D&D London (formerly Conran Restaurants) empire sits at the top of Canada Tower in the heart of Canary Wharf, which now resembles a space-age Manhattan, all towering skyscrapers and ultra-modern developments. Plateau commands incredible views of London on all sides, and the plush 1950s style decor and excellent service make this one of the classiest new places in town.
Their are two eating options here. The main restaurant serves Modern European fusion dishes prepared under head chef Tim Tolley with consummate skill. There is also a separate 'grill' area, more reasonably priced, featuring homely English classics like Shepherd's Pie... these are also lovingly prepared and possibly the better option at a fraction of the 'restaurant' prices. One of the main attractions of Plateau is the atmosphere and setting. This is a truly impressive, indulgent spot to take a meal, sitting on top of the world. Rest assured that you will also enjoy an exquisite meal, accompanied by a nice wine from an impressive list, served to you with panache... at a price.
