Named best new gastropub of the year in 2008 by Time Out, and wine list of the year by the Independent newspaper's restaurant critic Terry Durack shortly afterwards, the Princess Victoria used to be a bit of a dive. All that's behind her now as the old gin palace on Uxbridge Road has been lovingly restored and roundly recognised for her efforts. The food is thanks to chef James McLean, while former UK Sommelier of the Year Matt Wilkin has put together an extensive wine list. In summer, a herb garden is available from 11.30am till 10.30pm for outdoor drinking and dining.
