Rok restaurant is influenced by the cultures and culinary traditions of Scandinavia. True to its name - Rok means 'smoke' in Swedish - the food draws on techniques such as brining, pickling and smoking, applying them to good quality British ingredients. Influenced by the new Nordic food manifesto, the menu is made up mainly of smoked meat, cured fish, pickles and fermented vegetable dishes. F ounded by Charles Bakker, Frida Lindmark and Matt Young, they opened their first restaurant on Curtain Road, Shoreditch in 2015, their second restaurant on Islington's Upper Street a year later, followed by Rok Soho in mid 2018.
