Slightly pricey but very entertaining spot round the corner from Brixton tube. The Indonesian satay and main dishes are excellent, packed with flavour and served with panache, but it's all a little more expensive than you'd expect from a bar and grill serving snacky food.
LondonTown.com visited for a boozy date and with pre-dinner drinks, two courses of piquant, light food and a bottle, it came to about £60. So, not cheap, but if we hadn't drunk so much it would have worked out as a mid-range treat. Satay Bar is a lot more upmarket than its neighbours on Coldharbour Lane, and you pay for the classy setting, but the food is great.
