This excellent restaurant is the sister establishment of the world-famous Smollensky's in Manhattan, possibly the finest steak house in North America. Standards are very high here as well with delicious, hearty American fare available, popular with families as well as great cocktails and a good wine list. As well as being a good place take the kids, by night Smollensky's here in London turns into a jazz venue every Wednesday and Saturday from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Expect to hear some seriously good music with and after your meal. On some nights you can't get a table because Herbie Hancock or whoever is dropping by and the place is booked out. All in all this has something for everyone - balloons for the kids, hearty food, great drink, a good atmosphere and smooth jazz.Smollensky's on the Strand images
