Despite its central location between Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus, The Stockpot offers traditional English fare at decent prices in the heart of tourist London. With mains for under a fiver this little café/bistro is an ideal place for some credit-crunch munch. Over the years its combination of tasty, well-priced, no-frills food brought to the table with a smile and in a prime location has earned The Stockpot a bit of a cult following, with many regulars returning even if they can afford one of the area's swankier eateries. Michael Winner might not be exactly enthralled, but surely that's a ringing endorsement?
