An unassuming little restaurant on the Newington Causeway, The Balti House is a short walk from Borough and Elephant and Castle tube stations in the Newington area of South London. A favourite local spot thanks to its ease of location as well as its good food and warm welcome, The Balti House is extremely affordable, its menu packed with classic Indian restaurant dishes, ranging from the very mildly spiced to the blow your socks off favourites of the dedicated vindaloo fan. Everything is cooked according to traditional Indian recipes adapted to suit the British taste, and you'll doubtless be surprised by just how low the prices are, The Balti House providing the perfect solution for those can't-be-bothered-to-cook days that we all have from time to time. The rather decadent interior, with red velvet walls has been unchanged for some time now, proudly maintaining its decadently retro styling while other restaurants around it have stripped back to identikit blandness.
