As anyone who's ever visited The Truman Brewery will know, the famous 18th century former beer factory does cutting edge cool with aplomb. Being a stalwart on Brick Lane the old brewery has undeniable street cred and eludes a creative, urban, arthouse vibe. The Brickhouse restaurant at the Truman boasts a paint of bright white coat offset by plush red trimmings while the split three levels make maximum use of the tall ceilings. On the top floor you get beds instead of seats to make your reclining more comfortable. Being both a restaurant and supper club means you get modern European cuisine, courtesy of head chef Matthew Reuther, served up with live entertainment in the evenings. So your roast scallops with bacon, baby onion and parsley vinaigrette, served with parmesan mashed potatoes may come with the Burlesque charms and old-school glamour of Vicky Butterfly and her 18" corseted waist. Be prepared for snow flake nipple pasties, scenes of nudity and adult themes. You have been warned. The Brickhouse images
