This madly hip Mayfair hang-out - owned by tikka-tinged Crystal Palace millionaire Simon Jordan - has the kind of casual air that can only be achieved with a lot of care and expense - all exposed brickwork, dark leather, block wood tables and underlit basement bars. The menu has a similar flashiness, with an emphasis on foods designed to impress your neighbours (seafood platters, whole roast suckling pig), and trendy updates on comfort food (lemon sole and sour dough fish finger sandwich, crab po' boys). It never quite achieves the effortless New York brio that it aims for, but it's a fun, buzzy, young place, with a basement bar that achieves that, unusually for Soho, manages to be both smart and laid back.
