For once, you won't care that this train carriage isn't going anywhere. Pitched on Deptford High Street, the disused 1960s South East Train carriage has been recycled into a delightful cafe, beautifully re-decorated by Studio Myerscough. It's the first step in a project to revive the area around Deptford Train Station and the old Victorian carriage ramp which will include a Richard Rogers designed residential building. Coffee is sourced from sustainable farming projects around the world and food is largely home-cooked cakes, sandwiches, salads and hot, wholesome meals. Sitting on board this train is a far more relaxing experience than your average South East rail network journey.
