One of a trio of pubs and restaurants owned by the Meredith Group, The House is an Islington favourite. It's pricier than your average gastro pub but that doesn't seem to dent it's popularity among those who can afford it. Booking is necessary. It's particularly pleasant for an upmarket Sunday roast with all the trimmings. With the emphasis on the gastro rather than the pub, the food is excellent - while drinkers are ushered outside or given some limited indoor sofa seating. The House is also open for breakfast serving home baked pastries, freshly squeezed juices, the full English and a help yourself / create your own cereal bar with Greek Yoghurt and dried fruit, served from 11am to 12 noon on weekends.
