Organic, wild and artisan food is supplied by the likes of the River Cottage at this food emporium which, despite its location on Marylebone's main shopping street, still feels like a secret find. There's a mini cheese outlet by Paxton & Whitfield and organic tipples by Vintage Roots who specialise in chemical-free drinks - both alcoholic and non. Meat produce comes from The Well Hung Meat Company whose naturally reared, sustainably raised animals come from the green fields of Devon and Cornwall. Upstairs in the cafe is a small selection of sandwiches and exceedingly good chocolate cake that most certainly puts Mr Kippling's in the shade. Regular events focus on the many different types of organic food on sale, introducing customers to suppliers and their lovingly produced food. This is the kind of shop that gives Marylebone its delightful village atmosphere and makes a shopping trip feel more like a treat than a chore (though like most treats, it will cost you more than the mundane supermarket shop). The location is also close enough to Regents Park to pick up the ingredients for a rather special picnic and spend a lazy afternoon lying out on the grass.
