Shielded from the rampant capitalism and relentless wheeling and dealing above ground in the City, The Place Below is a calm haven below the streets. The still surroundings of the Norman crypt of St Mary-le-Bow Church and a healthier-than-thou menu are a wholesome antidote to the trials of life.
At breakfast time pick from juicy pastries, crunchy muesli or macro-biotic yogurt. Come lunchtime there's a fantastic selection of sandwiches with inventive fillings.
