The Rooftop CafeHidden at the top of an office block near London Bridge, the Rooftop Caf gives a unique perspective of The Shard. Once you've navigated your way through the discreet entrance and up the concrete staircase you're greeted by a colourful, minimalist restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows. Venture outside to the terrace, however, and you'll see the best part: a neck-aching, vertical view of the 87-storey skyscraper. You can visit the terrace for just a drink but it's also worth stopping for food, with an ever-changing seasonal menu that puts an emphasis on sustainability. Expect inventive dishes such as chilli polenta with creamed corn and sweet potato crisps, venison chop with roasted beetroot and pickled cherries, and pork belly with pak choi, spring onions and peanuts. A wine list that focuses on small, traditional growers and a handmade interior by young Spanish design Dr Cato completes the loving touches to this convivial restaurant.
