In the heart of the City, just off bustling Bishopsgate, The Water Poet's well-worn charm is a breath of fresh air in an area usually dominated by super slick wine bars. The critically acclaimed Spitalfields pub is a mix of comfortable leather, red walls and gilt-edged mirrors, which create a stylish but laid-back atmosphere. The venue boasts two dining rooms, a barn, basement bar, pool parlour, picturehouse and a pleasant beer garden, which draws in post-work drinkers from all over London. The huge area is smartly decked, awnings and heating are provided when needed, and an outdoor BBQ area serves tempting summer dishes. Head Chef Adrian Southall serves up classic pub grub such as toad in the hole, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie. While the BBQ menu features 28-day aged longhorn beef, slow roasted pork belly and grilled sea bass fillets. The pub also hosts a number of events and offer regular film screenings within its Picturehouse.
