This airy Italian restaurant attached to the boutique hotel of the same name is definitely designed with summer in mind. Huge plate glass windows, overlooking the attractively redeveloped St. John's Square, dominate the restaurant and let in plenty of daylight. Michael Benyan and Mark Sainsbury, partners in Moro, bring decor that's clean and unfussy, centred around a stylish circular bar. The menu is seasonal so on the bright October afternoon of our visit risottos, venison and buttery skate were the order of the day. Scallop risotto was powerfully creamy, stopping just short of being overwhelming. The venison was accompanied by a dangerously rich sauce, perfect for this tangy, gamey meat. Simple cooking, good ingredients and powerful flavours are what The Zetter does, and it does them very well. It's not flashy, but it definitely works. Brunch and breakfast are available, making the place accessible day-round. Hearty, filling food in an attractive location, and pretty reasonably priced for this part of London makes The Zetter one to recommend.
