Laid-back Japanese diner spread over three floors. The food at the Tokyo Diner is good, if unexceptional, the bentos satisfying, the rice plentiful and nothing is more expensive than it should be. The decor is simple and unpretentious, customers sit on stools but the canteen-style seating of other such places is thankfully absent.
Friendly service, a no tipping policy and a constant stream of free green tea makes this quirky, cosy Chinatown corner a welcome alternative from its conveyor belt cousins.
