The Troubadour is a lovely little cafe, which hosts an inspiring program of folk, blues, psychedelia and poetry downstairs. It's also the place where Private Eye was first set up, where Bob Dylan played his first London gigs, the former home of the Black Panthers in Europe and it has hosted gigs by Paul Simon, Charlie Watts, Sammy Davis Jnr and Jimi Hendrix. Music, history, and a great cup of tea, all in one compact package. The food is classic cafe grub - grills, salads, pasta and nibbles - but with all the ingredients sourced from top suppliers, it's of a very high standard. Funky decor, fine cocktails and great fry-ups make the Troubadour a prime place to kill a hangover at the weekend. The Troubadour events
