To get to Vine Leaves you have to venture out onto the Uxbridge Road, a vibrant but not upmarket area near Shepherd’s Bush. The restaurant itself is a quirky, friendly place that’s very popular with locals both Greek and otherwise. There’s a really pleasant atmosphere, an inexpensive bar, occasional musical entertainment and excellent personal service. What’s most surprising is the food; it’s all conventional Greek fare like mezze, halloumi, seafood and roasted lamb, but the execution is nearly perfect. Vine Leaves offers simple, seductive food cooked with a masterful touch.
