From the team behind Chelsea's Cheyne Walk Brasserie, this latest addition to their stable, opposite Waterloo station and looking out on The Old Vic Theatre, is ideally positioned for a theatre dinner. Leave following your main course and return after the performance for afters. The emphasis on brasserie style eating means you can get lighter dishes from breakfast through to dinner (well, 5pm anyway). Signature dishes such as Wild Halibut en Papillotte and Cassoulet Waterloo Brasserie with duck leg Confit are part of the later full supper menu. The portions could do with some beefing up the food, however, is faultless. Whether you like the doomy, dimly lit decor with red walls the only highlights is another matter. There's no denying the convenience of the location, just minutes from Waterloo, and that alone is sure to attract plenty of young commuters looking for a place to stop off en route from work to train.
