55Max came about when gallery owner Camilla Kemp was setting up her first home. Finding all her funds taken up with practical household items, there was little left over for the decorative pieces. Wanting to spend £55 maximum - Camilla came up with not only a novel idea for a gallery but also its name. Representing over 30 photographers and with access to the archives of agencies including Getty Images, 55Max has plenty to choose from. The original concept has now extended to include investment art – original film and music posters as well as artworks by well known artists such as Robert Longo, Banksy and Steve Kaufmann. There are free car parking spaces outside the gallery which belong to the gallery so are generally available.
