Though we remain unconvinced by the morality of American Apparel's Made-in-America, no-sweatshops brand (is this freeing the Chinese from economic slavery, or stealing their jobs?), it's not going to stop us from buying their wonderful, wonderful clothes. It's all about simplicity here, with bright pastels and primary colours, only the most basic patterns, and thin but high-quality fabrics that will hang well on anyone. The tailoring is excellent, so though the clothes can look pretty basic on the hanger, they fit in beautifully with almost any outfit, and are very sensibly priced as well.
