There has been a green-grocer on this spot for a century, and it really looks the part, with a lush display of fruit and vegetables that would fit into any film director's idea of a traditional village shop. However, a closer look at the selection reveals that this offers considerably more than the average greengrocer, with seasonal organic food sourced from all over Europe: pop down in autumn for fantastic Italian wild mushrooms, or in winter for great British veg. Many of the best restaurants in West London (including the River Cafe) source fruit and vegetables from Andreas and his assistant Darren. It's also thoroughly green, with food miles stickers helping you to figure out your winter strawberry's carbon footprint, and deliveries made with the bare minimum of packaging.
