This light and airy gallery run by Turner Prize-winner Wolfgang Tillmans has a reputation for exhibiting neglected artists and rarely seen works. A good example is an exhibition by concrete-minimal artist Charlotte Posenenske who was among Germany's leading artists in the 1960s (see picture). Himself a German, Tillmans worked as a photographer for youth magazines 'i-D' and 'The Face', studied at Bournemouth & Poole Collage of Art & Design and his work showing an arrangement of more than 60 photographs gained him the Turner Prize in 2000. The panel, headed by the Tate director, Sir Nicholas Serota, praised his ability to create striking images from everyday subjects, and said he was taking photography in new directions, not only in technique but also in presentation.
