Part of the H & M chain COS - which stands for Collection of Style - is a far more grown up style of clothing for men and women than the bright bargains we’re used to seeing at H & M. This new high street brand aims to supply us with classic clothes in neutral colours and contemporary cuts. The wood, glass and chrome interior of this stylish shop on Regent Street is a world away from the plastic hangers and jumble sale feel of H & M. If all goes according to plan, this the first of ten COS stores due to open throughout Europe. Shopper-friendly signs like "Stop! If you're male you may want to turn left" and "Come and try it out for size over here" show that they're trying to make a connection with customers. It's all very understated and minimalist with rails of monochrome clothes but if you're looking for the latest trends you'll have to look elsewhere.
